Almost Out!!

Hey everybody!! I hope everyone has had a fabulous week!!! Let me just recap whats been happening here!

 

 

So I'm in Hong Kong, quaratined for 21 days! I have to wear a security bracelet and if I leave my room its a 25,000HKD fine and six months in prison! I also have to take my temperature every morning and night and record it in a booklet (which we havent been very good at remembering to do haha) and we've been tested for covid twice already, and are set to be tested at our door again tomorrow! Our days usually are pretty simular... wake up, language study, break, language study, lunch, langauge study, nap, language study, dinner language study, sleep hahahah just kidding but thats what it feels like sometimes haha 

 

 

No but we actually have had a few exciting things happen this week! We were all able to be apart of our separete district councils which was super fun! And then me has LPO's (language pass offs)... kinda scary but basically we rollplay with a native and they pass us off if we do good hahaha so funny the sister I was with was soooo nice and told me all about how excited all the sisters are to finally have some american sisters here! We also actally had one of the elders tell us that someone from their english class was interested in learning about the Gospel of Jesus Christ!!! so they gave us her number and we called her and she said she would love to meet with us! SO exciting okay we were so excited to finally teach someone (over zoom) okay and then she said that he was able to meet this friday..... we get out of quartine friday morning... rip yeah so we gave her number to other sisters haha sad 

 

 

Im getting pretty sick of rice already HAHAHA but my family has been able to send me food (mainly mcdonalds because WOW) through food panda!!! It's like doordash but or China so that's been the best! It was sister nebekers 21st birthday a couple days ago!!! We celebrated by watching a movie and eating cheesecake that my mom sent us!! I dont know how to use chopsticks... anyways I've been feeling pretty pale lately... everytime I video chat with my dad, hes like Lace go sit out in the sun for a little bit........... BUT listen my companions told me that thats the beauty standard here, so i thats true, these people with think I'm drop dead gorgeous haha so sad

 

 

This week I felt like I had a breakthrough with the language!! Before, it just felt like I hit a wall and that i couldnt learn anything more haha but without notes in front of me, i do wayyy better which is really surprising! But I'm excited to actually use what I know to teach! 

 

 

We get out this Friday!!! We seriously could not be more excited! I'm going to miss these two companions so much... I'm not really sure what were going to talk about these last couple of days because I swear I know each of their whole life stories hahahahhaa theyre so great, we've had lots of laughs in here together! But dont worry, we've already made plans to meet up like every p-day once were out of here haha 

 

 

 I found out that I will be serving on Hong Kong Island! I also found out that my trainor is one of the sisters that has been helping us with langauge study while in quarantine! Im so excited to serve with her
