Hi guys!  It's It's pday today since the quarantine missionaries got out so we had transfers yesterday:))) my companion and i are both staying together so I will be finishing up her training and we're so glad we are staying in our ward! Its an AMAZING ward!!  This week was really good! They don't really do Thanksgiving here at all, but we had some sweet members in our ward take us out for pizza on Thursday for Thanksgiving! My companion and i both ordered the "American" pizza together and the waiter who was about our age, DIED laughing just right in front of us! So funny  We also had zone conference this week with the whole mission! The day before, they asked if our companionship would help make a really big "american" Thanksgiving meal hahaha all they think we eat there for it is potatoes and bread, which isn't wrong but there's a lot more that goes into it haha so we had stuffing, turkey, rice (they insisted), yams and just other traditiona...

Uchtdorf!

Image
Nothing too much this week!  We had an Asia Area devotional with Uchtdorf which was AMAZING! It was super cool and special and felt like he was talking directly to me!  We had a lot of weird encounters with people on the street this week for some reason haha some guy just yelled mormon church and left, one guy we stopped to talk to was really interested in us Americans and our muscles (???)  Sooo we kept walking, another guy ran up to us and was really excited to see us because he takes english from elders in the mission! We also saw a wedding on the pier- which trunked us out of our minds (haha just kidding) but it looked magical We've had lots of choir practice this week for the missions December choir performances! This is the last week in the transfer! The quarantine American missionaries get out next Monday which means that my pday will be on tuesday next week! I could get a second baby but eh I don't think so this tranfer!  Okay I'll talk to you guys next week!...

Lantau Peak! :)

Okay hi everybody! I have to make this one sort of quick!  Today we went on a hike! We hiked Lantau Peak and Big Buddha! It was so fun but wow, so sweaty, Big Buddha is BIG but the structure is under construction right now so we just saw the top of it! The hike was amazing but SO LONG and steep holy cow but like 60 year olds were doing it This week we switched it up and got some shake shack, we still got mcdonalds a few times, but those were just moments of weakness! Today we got it for breakfast but now were done for serious!  Sister wirig and I bought shawls, haven't taken them off since...comp study: SHAWLS, grocery store: SHAWLS,     church: SHAWLS, theyre the greatest things ever Story of the week!  We went out finding with a member this week and BOY was that an adventure! So she knows zero English, and talks in cantonese sooo fast,, so we really have to pray for the gift of tongues before doing anything with her! But so we met her at the mall where th...

Chingmy-miracle

Goodmorning!   Little miracle story for you this week!  My companion and I have been fasting and praying for our area for some time now because it's been pretty dead... We posted in a hong kong facebook group on Wednesday saying that we were new to hong kong and just asking people what hikes are their favorites! Well, a girl messaged us and told us she wanted to be friends! We got to messaging with her and invited her to church on Sunday! She said she didn't really know if she could make it because that's her only day off as a domestic helper and had lots to do.  Sunday rolls around and she calls me and tells me she's at the mtr exit to come to the church!! She came in and she's the sweetest! She's Indonesian but knows cantonese and english. She LOVED the meeting and just the whole time she was smiling and she would lean over to me and whisper in my ear "I'm so happy right now!" She understands some cantonese and so when she didn't understand s...
