Jóu sàhn everybody!!!! Wow such a good week... very very busy, but good!

I had exchanges with sister lam so I got to go to Ngau Tau Kok! Its super pretty there! We did some sign finding, calling, teaching, and lots and lots of eating haha were the two sisters in the mission that are known for eating lots and lots just all the time so when we went out for sushi, we sent a picture of all of our plates to our mission group chat haha yeah we had a lot of super good sushi that day

We went dingding finding! We rode the dingding (the trolley like transportation here on hongkong island) and wrote free English class on our masks! People would ask us about it and sometimes take pictures and we would awkwardly sit there while they took pictures of our faces hahaha

Zone conference was this week!!! Super super good!!! I think it's supposed to be just with your zone but since our mission is so small, we just did it with our whole mission! I love seeing all the missionaries in our mission all the time, its so fun! Anyways we had lots of training and advice for switching to a new mission president this month...

We put on a chapel tour at the Kowloon tong chapel! All missionaries invited their friends and so we had missionaries as escorts taking them around and then some missionaries in different rooms, sharing about our church! I was put in a room talking about the book of mormon... so nervous haha I had never talked cantonese in front of a crowd before! And I had to like six different times! But I did it... breakthrough moment for me haha

Ahh im trying not to make this too long BUT I really want to tell you this story! So we went to chíng (its just like meals with members lol idk why they call it that) but we went and we walk in and it was this really dirty, food court kind of thing. Somewhere I don't even know if theres any kind of health code set... So we go in and sit down and theres people smoking and drinking right next to us and right next to the door, there's this guy bare foot and in a tank top and shorts smoking and yelling to his imaginary friend across the room haha but so we got dinner: Duck, octopus, chinese soup, fried squid, porkchop, and fish. Just the smell and everything that was happening around us and the fact that I didn't watch this food be made just ah I really thought I was going to throw up my first bite of the octopus... but it was okay haha and right there in that really dirty, smelly, (you can't even really call it a restaurant) but place we eat, i shared my first spiritual message in cantonese all by myself! My companions were so proud hahaha that was also a good day for me! But at the end, I just couldn't get out of that place faster

Because there's just so many people and cars in my area, there have been more than a few near misses with me and cars/bikes/busses hahaha they drive on the wrong side of the road and I don't know why its taking me so long to get used to that! Its also a million degrees out there all the time and wearing a mask everywhere isn't my favorite... I've started washing just the bottom of my face right when I get home- because my mascara soo

We went grocery shopping today! We have to walk pretty far to the nearest market but if you don't bring a bag, you're either paying a million dollars for one, or you're carrying all your groceries haha I usually will spend about 200 hkdollars on groceries a week which is pretty good okay and then mcdonlads like four times a week so were living right haha just kidding I've loved trying new foods here

We had a ton of people at church yesterday which was so exciting!!! Our friend lingling came and sat by me! Shes so funny I love her!! We were talking to her and she just stops and looks at me and says something really excitedly and high pitched and I couldn't understand anything she was saying hahaha so I look at my companions and they tell me that she's calling me very beautiful haha and she did it randomly a few more times and ahahaga maybe thats why I love her but anyways she's so great haha she explained to me that not a lot of white people are here in Hong Kong so she just loves to look at me (kinda weird but I'm getting used to it) which is true, so whenever I see another white person on the street or the MTR we look at eachother like we have a special connection you know haha its so funny

We talked about how even improving 1% better at something everyday can make a big difference over a significant period of time!
