Goodmorning everybody! What. A. Week.

 

 

I've been having a blast her in HK! There's just so much and i never know what to write about!! 

 

 

Well first I'll start with telling you about Remi's baptism!!! It went great! She was really really happy and even though her family didn't come, it was like the whole causeway Bay ward showed up for her which was so awesome! That ward hasn't had a baptism in a while so they were all so excited haha Remi is so great and made a lot of new friends that day. We sang at it, in cantonese and wow hymns just sound so so funny in this language I'm just so glad I'm wearing a mask all the time so nobody can see me trying to hide a smile, ANYways, super super happy and proud proud Remi :) 

 

 

It was a really big holiday here in Hongkong a couple weeks ago but since then there's been a lot of police out especially in our area because of protests so we were asked to stay inside for a few days earlier in the week. But one time we were walking and jjst all of a sudden we found ourselves in this big crowd of people, police and reporters and the police kept looking at me and i kind of just felt uneasy bc I do not want to be arrested HAHAHA and i never really know if I'm doing an wrong, so anyways but hey maybe I was in the background on tv.

 

 

Here's some random things that I remember from the week: 

 

 

-i finally got to try DURIAN! and yes it smelled up the whole apartment and didn't taste too bad 

-i found my new favorite drink! It's Korean I think but I just randomly bought it at this Korean shop thing and it's so so good 

-we went to an art museum last pday and it was super super cool to see even how different the art styles are here 

-i saw real. Life. MONKS. Stop I was like starstruck 

-We got a new mission President! President Chan seems cool and I'm excited to get to know him more! 

-I gave a training at district council... so weird it feels like I just got here bc I did!! 

-The quarantined elders were jhst let loose and they were complaining about it being 2 weeks... I was like don't even

-we taught some super cute 3 yesr old twins some english! They didn't pay attention after the first two seconds but they were cute 

 

 

Today we went shopping (ofc) at mongkok and I bought a purple Jean jacket, two pairs of earrings, Popeyes  a new bag, two keychains, mcdonalds (a must), and two super cute dresses! But I held back on a lot of other cute stuff so just know that

 

 

Im liking the food more and more, just like, when they cut the meat off the animals body right in front of me... kind of a turn off haha 

 

 

We had dimsum with some members this week! Super fun super nice, they were so funny and usually people will speak changlish to me which I really appreciate bc otherwise I'm usually suuuuper confused haha 

 

 

Masks are still madatory inside and outside and the limit of gathering is 4 people. You're supposed to scan your temperature before walking into places and we have this stayhomesafe app on our phones and we need to scan the qr code of the place before we enter so they know where we've been, other places just have a a temperature scanner that shows your temperature on a screen when you walk in! Were still able to teach in person if the person is comfortable with it! Which most of them are 

 

 

I'm trying to take advantage of having bundeih companions while this last, bc President said ill be training soon ???? Yeahhhh we'll see how that goes haha there's a BUNCH of sisters coming and theres very little sisters here right now! 

 

 

Okay thats all for this week, this Church is true and God loves all of His children! The Gospel of Jesus Christ can bring happiness wherever we are in our lives or in the world! Love you guys talk to you next week!
