菠蘿包

Hey everybody! Not too much this week but just know that Im absolutely loving every second out here! 

One of my favorite things I love about teaching people is hearing first prayers, or sometimes just them praying in general! Let me tell you about our sweet friend A-Mìhng, so A-Mìhng is our 30ish year old friend in Macau (missionaries can't go to Macau right now so we just teach him over the phone) and hes just cuter than pie, he told us that he wanted to go to church yesterday! So we sent him the zoom link,  and towards the end of the zoom meeting, (we were in Relief society here in HK) we join the zoom and look for him and couldn't find him! So after the meeting he calls us and is like "sisters, sisters it wasn't working, I tried an hour to join but I didn't know how" then he asks if we can pray together and he says it and okay when he prays he talks in third person it the street thing, he says something like "A-Mìhng is so sad he couldnt join the church today. But A-Mìhng knows that Heavenly Father still loves him even though he couldn't come to church today" WE LOVE AMIHNG

In our everyday Filipino branch, we had the Olympics! We just played some games with the Friday Family sisters and at the end there was some pizza and some sisters brought Filipino desserts lol all the sisters were like hey white girl come try this, it was a mashed avocado mixed with milk and frozen so like popsicle tube thing, yeah not bad actually- they call it ice candy

I also tried bōloh yauh for the first time this week SO GOOD, my companions just say I like it because it's unhealthy hahahaha it's just that pineapple bun thing but with a wholeee lot of butter in the middle 

Saw a hong kong celeb this week in Central, I guess like for every lunar new year, she dresses up as whatever animal the year is? Yeah that was her, so funny, she looked "a little bit older" and so all these "a little bit older" women were surrounding her asking for pictures haha 

We taught our friend Elvira the Plan of salvation yesterday!!! She had SO many good questions and since english isn't her first langauge we had some members help translate to her and also translate to us some of her questions which was SUPER helpful, because of that, my companions and I pick up a little bit of tagalong here and there haha 

We failed our apartment clean check, rip, haha I don't know why but literally our kitchen counters are always greasy and there is hair EVERYwhere I don't know how it happens! Then sometimes our toilet doesn't flush so we keep a bucket by it to fill with water yk, and as you would guess, the shower is made for someone like a foot shorter than me haha but I love getting to live here and live with bundeihs because even the living culture here is way different but I love learning and living it! 

Alrighty so this is pretty long, and hopefully it all makes sense because my phone doesn't have auto correct haha there's just so many things i love about being here and the people i meet!! but I love and miss you guys and I'll talk to you next week!
