Miss Hong Kong

It has been a busyyyy week, filled with little miracles and learning experiences!

I went on exchanges this week with my fav Sister Nebeker! We were in quarantine together! It was so fun, we went to find people on the street to talk to, and  we kind of just full sent it and with our broken cantonese were able to talk to a bunch of people and a couple people were interested in hearing about the Gospel! We stopped a school girl on her way home from school and then all her friends turned the corner and she yells to them "they know Chinese!!!!" And then they all come over and are just so amazed that these two 鬼妹 knew Chinese it was so so funny, Her and I almost got lost a couple times, had to ask for directions from like four different people, got on the wrong bus but hey we made it to where we needed to be, just a little bit late haha The exchange was kind of a glimpse for each of us to see how having a white companion is, because we probably both will be training in a couple weeks! Eeeek! Wish us luck, it could either be not that bad or absolutely terrible

This week our district did some service! We hiked the peak and picked up garbage! The peak looks over basically all of Hong Kong and it was gorgeous!!! That was also my first time seeing the type of spiders that are bigger than my head, yuck, did not like that, also, it was so. hot. I sweat the most I've ever sweat in my whole entire life I can't even explain it omg and just so sticky and ew but hey we were doing service #worthit

So something really funny/awkward,
We went to eat at this super good cheap restaurant kind of near our apartment, anyway we got on the elevator that must've had like 10 other people on it, and as im getting on, the worker on the elevator looks as me and is like "oh wow, you so beautiful" and the whole ride she's just talking about how charming my eyes are and stuff like that (in english) and everybody in the elevator is like nodding their heads, then on our way out, she tells me that if I entered the hong kong beauty pageant, that I would win Miss Hong Kong hahaha the sisters I was with were dying because I just really didn't know how to respond

When sister nebeker and I went street finding, at first, we were so scared hahaha because listen just walking up to people that sometimes look so angry, to talk to them in a language that they're fluent in and that you're just learning, to ask them if they may or may not be interested in hearing about what can bring them everlasting happiness, is scary!!!!! But we said a prayer before we went out to have courage and to have Heavenly help! We remembered the scripture in Moses 6:32 about how if we just trust in the Lord and open your mouth, it will be filled by the spirit! So the whole time we were just like okay, we just having to open our mouths haha and we trusted in the Lord, and just full sent it and we're able to have really good conversations! Theyre were a couple people that weren't too nice but hey that's okay haha next time! We actually stopped this lady who said she couldn't talk because she was LITerally on her way to the temples to worship some Chinese God and we were like ohp, okay goodluck with that haha

This week I've thought a lot about my family and how much I appreciate their support for me on my mission! I also want to thank them for being good examples to me since I was small! Throughout my life, each of my family members has shown me how to be more Christ-like. Growing up watching them, it really taught me who I want to be in life! And so, I am here today- serving the Lord with my wholeee heart, trying my best to be the most Christ-like I can be.
