15 Minute Train Ride Report

Hey! So much happens in just one week it's so crazy but I'll try my best in this quick 15 minute train ride to fill you in! I feel bad because i didn't write too much last week 

This next week we have our mission tour! We have President and Sister Meurs from the area Presidency to basically just see how we're doing as a mission and to give some council! On Friday we got to meet with them and they're so nice and have the coolest accents (they're from New Zealand)! 

The mid autumn festival is coming up so members have been giving us heaps and heaps of moon cakes! So funny we even got durian flavored moon cakes, oh yeah 

Apparently for the fillipinos its already Christmas haha they all wear Christmas dresses to church and we went down to central the other day, where a fillipino mall kind of thing is, and they were playing Christmas music haha and everytime we go to central I buy a new fillipino food to try! It's been fun but probably not a great habit for my wallet, or my stomach 

 

The members in our fillipino branches are so awesome, every Sunday at least 7 of them bring a friend that they want us to teach!!!! Its so so amazing and they're just so open about their lives to us and exactly how we can help them! One of the friends was Indonesian and since she's been in Hong Kong and away from her daughter, she said her daughter hasn't been making great choices and asked us to send some missionaries in Indonesia to her house to help her! 

Also, one of the fillipino sisters in one of our branch, owns a hair salon! So I asked her at church on Wednesday if she could cut my hair on pday and she said she could do it right then! She grabbed scissors and cut four inches off hahaha then my companion cut two more off when we got home 

For some reason we keep waking up to dead cockroackes on our kitchen floor, I just know it because Ill hear a loud scream from the kitchen and then quick footsteps running away, I love living with other Americans 

Speaking of, the two that I live with asked me to take them on another run, so naturally I take them to run to a bakery, and then we ate our egg tarts, and then we ran to McDonald's down the other street and sat and ate breakfast there, I love being in charge of our workouts 

Today for pday we had a slow morning, talked to fam and then went SHOPPING, we went to a jade market and I bargained a jade ring from $180 to $30 hahaha I'm pretty proud of that, then we went to shake shack! Id never had it before but it's pretty good, then we went shopping again haha and then went to Kowloon tong to see other missionaries! Good day
