好忙
Good morning! SUCH a busy week holy cow
Mission tour!
We had our mission tour this week with Elder and Sister Meurs! They were so great and our companionship actually got to do weekly planning with them! We told them about some of our friends that were teaching, and they gave some really good guidance about knowing what to do next and how to help each of them get to know and apply the gospel in their lives! They're SO awesome!
Miracles!
On Saturday morning, we prayed for a time we should go out and find people that would want to hear about the Gospel of Jesus Christ! We felt super prompted to walk the pier from CausewayBay all the way to central at exactly 10:30, so we did. And WOW so many mini miracles on this little hour and a half walk! Right at like 10:31am, we ran into this woman who works security there! I have seen her many times on my morning runs with the mandarin sisters, but my companion, sister pang has never met her. Everytime we see her in the morning I have a little conversation with her! She doesn't know mandarin, so the mandarin sisters just sit there and smile and pretend to know what's going on haha but she recognized me even not in workout clothes! We went up to her. I introduced my companion and we talked for about 20 minutes! She's so nice! We gave her our number and I'm really excited to see her tomorrow morning! Haha then right when we were about to end our walk, we just both randomly waved to a lady on this bench, and she waved us over and we talked to her for about 15 minutes too! Turns out she has a lot of friends that are members of the church! We gave her our number and since then, she's messaged us and we're meeting with her this coming week! Super super exciting! God is in the details
Exchanges!!
I went on exchanges with Sister Lam this week!! We just switched companions for the day, so I got to go to her area in NTG! she's great, I look up to sister lam in a lot of different ways!! She a really good example to me of acting on promptings of the spirit, plus she speaks cantonese 100% of the time with me which is SO good for me haha we met with a Thai woman who was so small and so cute and nice! Her cantonese was perfect because she's lived her for 40 years, but we brought a Thai Book of Mormon for her and taught out of that!
Miscellaneous haha
-Our Friday family Filipino sisters brought us ICE CANDY! It's so so good, it's like a Filipino dessert! Sister Claire said she just blends avocado, condenced milk, water and sugar, then puts them into individual tubes and freezes them! So good!
-Our mission President basically just asked us to start learning mandarin, tagalong for our fillipino sisters, Thai, and sign language! We each already know a little tiny bit tagalong from serving in their branch but we've started going to a sign language class!
-Mid autumn festival this coming week=moon cake overflow! We seriously have moon cakes coming out our ears over here, our members just bring a truck load every week for us i swear haha theyre so nice but I'm going to die
-We had a Mid Autumn Festival activity for one of our wards and I sang and sis pang played the piano! Songs are different in cantonese but it was fun
-We saw a RAINBOW yesterday, haven't seen one of those since my Washington days
-Had cheng with members! All you can eat hot pot! Favorite cheng of the mission so far... definelty, hot pot is SO good, not to mention the endless supply of cream puffs
-helped the english/mandarin missionaries pass out english Books of Mormon, it was interesting hahaha but more successful then you would think!
-we think we have bed bugs HAHAH its so unfortunate and everyone's freaking out haha we should've known the cockroaches had friends
That's all from me! Thank you so much for all your emails! I'll try and respond today! Love you guys! Hope you're doing well and I'll talk to you next week!!
