Lantau Peak! :)
Okay hi everybody! I have to make this one sort of quick!
Today we went on a hike! We hiked Lantau Peak and Big Buddha! It was so fun but wow, so sweaty, Big Buddha is BIG but the structure is under construction right now so we just saw the top of it! The hike was amazing but SO LONG and steep holy cow but like 60 year olds were doing it
This week we switched it up and got some shake shack, we still got mcdonalds a few times, but those were just moments of weakness! Today we got it for breakfast but now were done for serious!
Sister wirig and I bought shawls, haven't taken them off since...comp study: SHAWLS, grocery store: SHAWLS, church: SHAWLS, theyre the greatest things ever
Story of the week!
We went out finding with a member this week and BOY was that an adventure! So she knows zero English, and talks in cantonese sooo fast,, so we really have to pray for the gift of tongues before doing anything with her! But so we met her at the mall where there's this big play ground and she told us to give her all our english class cards. We started walking around and not going to lie we looked a little sus walking around staring at these young families haha after being rejected a few times, she just wanted to buy us some egg tarts. So she buys them, we go to sit at this table where there's already a young family sitting at, she has the little boy move and then asks him if he's interested in english class. The mom perked up when she heard it and said yes! Before sister wirig could even they'll the box of egg starts, the member taught them how to pray, where we go after we die, who Jesus Christ is, invited them to church, and was asking me to pull out my Book of Mormon so we could read together, and THEN she had me say a prayer in the middle of the park with this family! Oh my goodness is was so funny, it was just all so fast and we just couldn't believe how into it this member got haha like wow she was so excited! She wouldn't wouldn't let us get a word in either hahahaa
Something from my personal study!
I've been studying TONS about the Atonement lately and it's the best thing I've ever done. So I read a talk from general conference in 2015, and something I really liked from it- Dallin H Oaks talks a lot about how Earth has no sorry that Heaven cannot cure. So literally whatever sorrow or heartache we feel on Earth, that we feel like it's never ending or you think we'll just never go away... it CAN be cured, it CAN go away. And he goes on to say that what cures us is our Savior and His Atonement! Ah just so good!
